COMMUNICATIONS & MARKETING

Throughout my career, I’ve worked in communications and marketing roles for a range of mission-driven organizations. Whether writing for scientists or six-year-olds, donors or volunteers, colleagues across twenty different countries or families in one city, my work begins with understanding how a community connects and the best way to reach them.

Writing & Storytelling

Helping mission-driven organizations and institutions tell their stories is one of my favorite things to do. A non-exhaustive list of what that's looked like: newsletters, donor appeals, targeted email campaigns, recruitment and enrollment materials, press releases, staff communications…. I could go on! Whatever the work, my aim is always to find the best language for the format and audience.

Social Media

Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, Snapchat, TikTok — my career has tracked the rise of social media as a marketing tool. Since 2012, I have directed and executed social media strategy for multiple organizations, from day-to-day content to long-term fundraising, recruitment, and public awareness campaigns. Highlights include contributing to global NGO EngenderHealth’s award-winning WTFP?! campaign and helping grow the audience and digital presence of Misadventures, the women’s adventure magazine I co-founded.

Web Design & Content

I’ve come a long way since my LiveJournal days! Throughout my career, I’ve managed websites across multiple content management systems, always with a focus on navigability, clarity, and cohesive storytelling. I have also led major website redesign projects for Tucson Community School, the Girl Scouts of Southern Arizona, and Sangam World Centre in Pune, India, including information architecture, content restructuring, and full editorial rewrites. Currently, I maintain and update the website for The Children's Preschool in New Haven.

Graphic Design

Last but not least: I design brochures, flyers, social media graphics, donor communications, event materials, and whatever else the moment may call for, helping to turn messaging into clear, cohesive visuals. I work primarily in Canva and Adobe InDesign, and I especially love building a visual identity from scratch and watching it grow across formats and mediums.
